THE EPIPHANY BEHIND THIS BLOG
Epiphany – “an illuminating discovery, realization, or disclosure” – Merriam-Webster.com
Honestly, I originally decided to do a blog so I could get some traction to
recreate my restaurant board game into an online version.
But that wasn’t the direction it took as this blog boldly took on a life of its own.
I’ve wrestled with recollections of my restaurant experiences for many years. Lots of dreams, too—well, unfinished business is more like it—but more on that
in my post about dreams.
This blog has encouraged me to look back on both my missteps and accomplishments in more detail than ever. What I would change and what I’m still happy about to this day.
A detailed analysis. Until recently, I just didn’t think about it that way.
The restaurant game is exciting, stressful, and fun, but it takes it to the next level when a personal and financial commitment to become an entrepreneur is made. So many people get involved in the foodservice industry as the Duck Soup meaning states:
easy to do and often profitable.
As noted in the blog’s intro, my intention is to reach out and share the experiences,
both good and bad, that are common in this dynamic industry. We could all learn something and possibly have a few laughs.
In the end, it’s comforting to know there are many people that have dealt with
the same issues as me and have persevered.
